I'm not that great at talking about myself. Normally, I would have my assistant write the biography section, but I'm an independent filmmaker in my twenties, I can't afford an assistant.
My name is Haqq, I'm from Connecticut, USA. As a kid, I always loved to read, which was a dangerous pipeline to loving to write. I have always been passionate about storytelling, and in 2009 at ten years old, I started a YouTube channel and began uploading short films. Using Legos, I created stop-motion animations, teaching myself how to edit video and sound, create VFX, and create an online brand.
As my page gained popularity, I learned how to engage with my audience, market my content, and develop a dedicated fanbase. YouTube provided an opportunity for collaboration with other creators, and to develop my script-writing, editing, voice-acting, cinematography, and directing skills. I expanded into a wide variety of content that included animated shorts, live-action films, gaming content, and music videos. The Haqq17 YouTube page has over twenty million views and twenty thousand subscribers.
I spent about nine years living in New Mexico. At Cleveland High School in Rio Rancho, I was a part of the Storm Chasers, the video production club, and directed live multi-camera sports game broadcasts using Tricaster software. I attended the University of New Mexico, where I studied film production and digital media. I received my Bachelor's in 2021. I also spent about four years working in management in the restaurant industry, where I learned how to coordinate and communicate across large teams, mentor and help develop my crew, and provide excellent hospitality.
I returned to Connecticut in 2023, and continue to pursue new creative projects and collaborations. Check out more of my work here on my YouTube channel, and feel free to reach out to me at haqq17@gmail.com.
